An investigation was conducted into a complaint alleging that the Cobourg Police Service (CPS) failed to appropriately respond to and investigate a report of fraud. After reviewing the Findings Report, the Inspector General concluded that the CPS complied with the Community Safety and Policing Act, 2019 and its regulations and provided adequate and effective policing.
The Inspector General found that the CPS followed applicable procedures and standards for criminal investigations and commended the service for its responsive and timely investigation, which likely prevented additional harm to other potential victims.
